ATOS I - The Fast Measuring Machine
OVERVIEW
 

Computer-aided techniques like CAD, CAM and FEM require an efficient coordinate measuring technique in order to achieve exact correspondence between numerical model and real component.

Using the digitizing system ATOS I (Advanced TOpometric Sensor), an object can be measured in a short time and with high local resolution. The individual measurements are merged into a project and the measured data can be exported as point clouds, sections or STL-data. Additional hardware, such as mechanical measuring machines, translation units or robots, is not required.
The ATOS I is the optimal choice if very short measurement sequences and a robust data evaluation is needed and compromises can be accepted in the data quality and data density. Due to the compact sensor and system, the rugged design and the modern interface, the system is ready to be integrated into industrial production processes.

Applications

Non-contact and material independent 3d-digitization of arbitrary objects, such as workpieces, models, moulds, sculptures, human body parts, component damages etc. for:

  • generating STL or CAD data

  • transferring model modifications to CAD

  • creating control data for the manufacturing on NC-milling-machines and rapid prototyping system

  • nominal/actual comparison between object and model (CAD model, point clouds or STL data)

  • measurements with difficult conditions provide authentic measurement values due to fast measuring time, robust data evaluation technology and the proven stereo viewing set up

  • generation of measurement data and reports as specified by Quality Planning for CMMs

  • quality control, e. g. measuring deformations, fabrication defects, spring-backs

  • ready to be integrated in industrial measuring cell or used as OEM module in dedicated systems

Features

  • Fast Measuring Sequence: Image grabbing in less than one second is supported.
  • Simple operation: The user can concentrate on the digitizing progress as all the transformations are performed automatically by the system.
  • Flexibility: The same sensor (ATOS XL) is capable of measuring small and large objects (10mm up to 10m).
  • High detail resolution: Due to the high point density, details of the component can be depicted precisely. The accuracy of the measured data is comparable to that of single frame coordinate measuring machines.
  • Mobility: The system can easily be traveled to the part and can digitize any object in a flexible manner.

Add Ons

  • Rotation Table
    This medium size rotation table is recommended in combination with the ATOS digitizing systems mounted on a flexible stand, to digitize parts up to 100 kg centered load or up to 40 kg excenter load in an efficient semi-automated process.
    Digitizing and Quality Control of the gathered data can thus easily be automated using the combined ATOS and rotation table system.
